THE SCOOP
This week was a particularly tough one — one of our franchisees decided she wanted out. Four months in, doing well in her market. Still wanted out. Oof, absolutely gut-wrenching.
My first instinct wasn't to force her to stay. BUT - there's a rule I always come back to: don't make a permanent decision based off a temporary emotion.
What happened next, what I actually told her, and what this made me rethink about who should be going into entrepreneurship in the first place — all in this week's DoF vlog, check it out below.
VLOG OF THE WEEK
📹 Diary of a Franchise Ep. 3

Part of the journey as a MT Franchisee is learning not just the skills to be an entrepreneur (we give you all the tactics and tools you need) but the mindset (we walk though this in our weekly internal podcast episodes).
As you’ll see in this week’s DoF, sometimes people can’t adjust their mindsets to a new configuration. Despite a prominent start, this franchisee couldn’t shake the worries that any new business owner has in the early days.
The job for me (and my team) is to make sure all my franchisees have everything they need to succeed, and when I know a franchisee has all that, sometimes it’s just a question of a gut check.
When she came back two weeks later, she still wanted out, so I did my best to help her and we ended up finding an amazing win/win/win solution (check out the video to find out what happened).
“The point of MaidThis is to be an on-ramp for entrepreneurship.”
MAIDTHIS BIG WINS
🙌 Best 30 Days

We have a “big wins” channel in slack and we love watching franchisees in different stages of the journey. This week we saw a great win as the franchisee shared “the best 30 days we’ve ever had.”
The best part? I know there’s still plenty of room to grow. They are doing all the right things and this is what happens when you do.
THINGS I’M LIKING RN
🙊 High School Me

I don’t know if this kid would have believed you if you had told him that 20 years in the future, he would be building a franchise system for those who want to build a local cleaning company remotely.
In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s the exact face I would have made if you had told me that was gonna happen.
Remotely,
