My wife was out for the night, so I made myself some tea, got cozy, and went straight into my current favorite obsession: Claude Code (this is what passes for a wild night for me now).

Most franchise systems are top-down. Brand figures it out, pushes it down, franchisees execute. Clean, efficient...annnndd I think it's going to be way too slow for the storm thats coming.

So instead of being the only one pushing innovation, I want to harness what franchisees are already building on their own with Claude & AI.

We launched an AI channel in Slack recently. People are posting chatbots, quoting tools, lead follow-up automations. The goal is to get all of it into a shared MaidThis GitHub so any franchisee can just download what someone else already built and run with it.

As our franchise adds tools to the toolbox, our franchisees are getting to $10k a month faster and faster: our standard is now 90 days to that mark. Part of the journey to get there is having a solid first month in business.

13 years ago I was lurking on a Reddit thread for how to start a cleaning business.

Over time I built systems, hired a remote team, and slowly removed myself from the day-to-day. The business stayed “boring,” but the lifestyle did not. I’ve now worked from 60+ countries while this local service company runs in the background.

Simple, durable, systemized businesses gave me freedom. Not some flashy new trend.
