🎯 Working on the Right Things
It's always funny how humans wait for certain time milestones to start planning stuff — New Year's resolutions, quarterly kickoffs, whatever. And that's exactly what I'm doing here....QUARTERLY Planning, figuring out what we're actually going to work on next.
Here's something 13 years in business has taught me: knowing what NOT to work on is wayyy more important than what to actually work on. There are a zillion things you could do. The best operators know what fire to let burn.
So instead of guessing, I asked our franchisees directly in Slack: what's the single thing that, if solved, would make your business double in size?
The answer surprised me. I break it all down — and what we're going all-in on next quarter — in this week's vlog, check it out below.
VLOG OF THE WEEK
📹 Diary of a Franchisor Ep. 5: Working on the Right Things

If you’re familiar with Gino Wickman’s Traction, you’re familiar with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and the concept of “rocks,” i.e. the 1-3 big things you are working on each quarter.
In this week’s DoF, I remind people that running a business isn’t about checking off a to-do list every day. Not all to-dos are created equal. At 2:45 I start talking about the North Star metric and how I use that to prioritize my tasks each day, week, quarter, and year, and at 3:46 the franchisees share with me what their priority is right now.
“There are an endless number of things to work on. A good business owner knows what to work on and what to let burn.”

🥇 Tri-Weekly Client

Bi-weekly cleans are something we really love so when we get a tri-weekly one we are really happy. It also opens the door to referrals of customers who are similar.
